“Android Users Face Rapid Battery Drain Post Update”

Date:

Some Android device users are experiencing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are rapidly draining even when the devices are not actively in use. This problem seems to have emerged following a recent software update. Numerous Android users have taken to online forums to express their frustrations, noting the need to charge their phones multiple times a day to maintain power levels.

The battery drain bug appears to be impacting Google’s Pixel phone series, with the tech company acknowledging the issue and working on a solution. Affected devices reportedly include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A.

According to insights from 9to5Google, the problem is believed to stem from CPU wakeups, causing the phone to remain active in the background even when not in active use. Users like Phil and Fz have shared their experiences, detailing sudden battery drops, slow charging speeds, and overnight drain issues.

While some Pixel users like Warren have not encountered battery drain problems, Google is expected to investigate further and release an update promptly. Updates on this matter will be provided as new information becomes available.
