A tragic incident unfolded on an Emirates flight EK067 arriving at Stansted Airport from Dubai when a passenger was discovered unconscious by the flight crew on February 8. Despite immediate medical attention from crew members and onboard doctors, the passenger remained unresponsive. Upon landing, it was confirmed by authorities that the man had passed away.
Emirates expressed its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased passenger. The airline’s statement mentioned that the crew had discovered the passenger unconscious during the descent preparation and despite their efforts, the passenger did not respond.
In a separate incident, a British Airways flight, BA1481, had to return to Glasgow Airport after declaring an emergency shortly after take-off due to a technical issue. The aircraft circled over South Lanarkshire before landing safely back in Glasgow. The airline spokesperson apologized for the delay caused by the technical problem and assured passengers that efforts were being made to resume their journeys promptly.
Furthermore, a TAP Air Portugal flight TP1329 bound for Porto had to turn back to Gatwick Airport shortly after take-off due to a reported fire in the galley. The Airbus A320 safely returned to Gatwick and was parked for technical evaluation before departing again for Porto, arriving several hours past the original schedule. The fate of the passengers, whether they continued on the same aircraft or were transferred to another plane, remained undisclosed.
