A man reportedly fell overboard from a P&O ferry traveling in the Irish Sea between Larne, Northern Ireland, and Stranraer, Scotland. The Coastguard initiated a search and rescue operation following the incident, which took place at approximately 1:21 pm. Despite extensive search efforts involving Coastguard teams, RNLI Lifeboats, and a rescue helicopter, no trace of the person was found, leading to the search being called off.
As a result of the incident, P&O canceled sailings from both Stranraer and Larne, notifying passengers of potential delays to the 8 pm crossings. Flight radar maps confirmed the return of the Coastguard helicopter to land after circling over the Irish Sea during the operation. The situation remains ongoing, with authorities closely monitoring and responding to the situation for the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.
