“Islamic Group Claims Motive for Golders Green Attacks”

Date:

The group known as the ‘Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand’ has revealed the reasons behind the recent Golders Green ambulance attacks. According to the group, the attacks were motivated by two main factors. Firstly, the group cited a visit by former Tory Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to the nearby synagogue. Secondly, they mentioned a deep historical connection between the synagogue and a controversial Rabbi dating back over a century.

The group emphasized that the synagogue has long been a stronghold of support for Israel in Britain. They referred to a visit by Rishi Sunak in June 2024 during the Gaza war as a demonstration of unwavering British support for Israel and solidarity with the Jewish community.

Furthermore, the group highlighted the significance of Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, who they described as the first Chief Rabbi of Israel and a prominent figure in Religious Zionism. They connected the synagogue’s strong ties with the rabbi to the recent attacks.

The ‘Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand’, identified by the SITE Intelligence monitoring service, claimed responsibility for the Golders Green attack in north London. The group also took credit for similar incidents in Belgium, Greece, and the Netherlands.

In their statement, the group had meticulously prepared a multilingual document in English, Hebrew, and Arabic linking the synagogue to a former rabbi from the early 20th century. They highlighted Rabbi Kook’s role as a significant religious figure among European Jews in British-mandated Palestine.

Following the attacks, law enforcement agencies are actively searching for the perpetrators. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, leading Counter Terrorism Policing for the Met, expressed concerns over the impact of such incidents on Jewish communities. He emphasized the importance of bringing the perpetrators to justice and outlined security measures to protect the Jewish community.

Lord Beamish, a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee, remarked on Iran’s pattern of targeting dissidents and Jewish communities through proxies. He stressed the need for unity within communities amidst such threats.
