“Head-on Crash on A1 in Northumberland Injures Eight”

Eight individuals were injured in a tragic collision on a major A-road, with seven of them swiftly taken to the hospital. Two of the hospitalized victims sustained severe injuries in a head-on crash in Northumberland, leading to the closure of a section of the A1 due to the two-vehicle accident.

The road closure spanned between the B1340 (Denwick) and the A1167 (Berwick Upon Tweed) for several hours after the collision near Purdey Lodge on Saturday. Emergency services treated a total of eight individuals at the scene, with two suffering significant head and leg injuries, according to reports from Chronicle Live.

A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service disclosed that they responded to a head-on collision between two vehicles on the A1 in Northumberland. Eight patients were treated, including two with serious head and leg injuries, and the rest with minor injuries. Seven patients were transported to the Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington, while one was taken to RVI in Newcastle.

Emergency responders, including Northumbria Police, were present at the scene, and the road closure persisted until Sunday morning. National Highways also provided support to manage traffic flow.
