Two individuals who lost their lives in a tragic collision involving three vehicles on Saturday night have been identified by local sources. The victims, a 31-year-old man, a 48-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The deceased have been named locally as Conor Quinn, a 31-year-old father from Coalisland, and Laura Hoy, a 23-year-old mother from Cookstown. Following the incident, Conor’s sister shared the heartbreaking news on social media, describing him as a beloved father, brother, and son.
Expressing his condolences, SDLP Armagh Councillor Thomas O’Hanlon acknowledged the profound impact of the tragedy on the affected families and communities. He extended thoughts and prayers to everyone affected and commended the emergency responders for their efforts in the face of such distressing circumstances.
A press conference held at the crash site on Sunday revealed that a red BMW, a grey Volkswagen, and a white Audi were involved in the collision. Police confirmed the fatalities of the two men and the woman, while four others sustained injuries, three of whom are currently under medical care.
Reflecting on the somber event, Fermanagh & South Tyrone MLA Diana Armstrong described it as a dark day for the families affected by the tragic incident.
