US President Donald Trump stated that Britain’s King Charles is aligned with him in preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The US and Iran have been engaged in conflict since February 28, with joint strikes conducted by the US and Israel on key Iranian sites, followed by retaliatory actions from Iran. While a temporary ceasefire has been agreed upon, a long-term peace deal remains elusive.
During a White House state dinner on April 29, Trump emphasized the defeat of the opponent and the shared commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities, a stance supported by King Charles. Trump also expressed resolve against communism, fascism, and tyranny.
The banquet, attended by 120 guests, included discussions on US history, as well as interactions between King Charles, Queen Camilla, and President Trump during the royal visit to the US. King Charles received a standing ovation for his speech to the US Congress, which was commended by Trump during the state dinner.
In his address at the White House banquet, King Charles reflected on historical challenges in the US-UK relationship, noting past crises and the evolution of bilateral ties over time. The guest list featured prominent figures such as Rory McIlroy, Jeff Bezos, and Tim Cook, alongside officials like Marco Rubio, Yvette Cooper, Pete Hegseth, and General Dan Caine.
The event highlighted the strong diplomatic connections between the US and the UK, with discussions on past experiences shaping present-day relations and collaborations.
