Two individuals are in critical condition following a terrifying stabbing incident that occurred on a bustling subway platform in New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The chaos unfolded during the morning rush hour when a man launched a frenzied knife attack, leaving at least two victims with severe injuries.
Panicked commuters were forced to flee as officers from the New York Police Department swiftly responded to the scene. The suspect, armed with a machete, refused to surrender his weapon, prompting officers to open fire. The violent episode took place on the busy 4, 5, and 6 subway lines around 9:50 am, causing panic among passengers at the iconic Midtown Manhattan station. Train services were disrupted, with trains bypassing the terminal as emergency crews arrived.
Eyewitnesses recounted hearing officers demanding the suspect to drop the blade just before gunshots were fired. Shocking footage captured at the scene showed a long-bladed weapon near the apprehended suspect, who was left on the ground following the altercation.
