Emergency services responded to a footpath in the morning where a woman was declared deceased.
A police cordon has been maintained near Junction Road in Bolton, following the incident.
Authorities from Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the death of the woman is not considered suspicious and was in response to concerns for her welfare.
The presence of two air ambulances at Deane Golf Club, along with the closure of the footpath adjacent to Deane Church Brook towards the cemetery, marked the scene where the woman was found. Police officers have been stationed at the cordon throughout the day.
A spokesperson for the GMP stated that emergency services were alerted to a welfare concern on Junction Road in Bolton earlier today.
The spokesperson added, “Tragically, a woman lost her life at the scene. The area will remain secured while investigations are ongoing.”
