“Deadly Plane Crashes Claim Lives in South Sudan and Minnesota”

Date:

At least 14 individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident when an airplane crashed and caught fire during adverse weather conditions. The Cessna aircraft went down on the outskirts of South Sudan’s capital, claiming the lives of all 13 passengers and the pilot, as confirmed by the civil aviation authority.

Initial reports suggest that the crash, involving a plane that had traveled from Yei town, may have been caused by poor visibility due to challenging weather conditions. Among the deceased were two Kenyan nationals, with the remaining victims being South Sudanese.

Authorities dispatched a team to the crash site located approximately 12 miles outside Juba. The aircraft, a Cessna 208 Caravan operated by CityLink Aviation, lost contact while en route from Yei to Juba International Airport. Air traffic control reportedly lost communication with the plane 30 minutes into the flight, a distance of about 80 miles.

Footage shared on social media depicted the aftermath of the crash, showing the aircraft wreckage engulfed in flames in a hilly and misty setting. Rescue personnel noted that the bodies were severely burned and unidentifiable.

In a separate aviation tragedy, a US politician and pilot met a fatal end in a plane crash over the weekend. Liz Conmy, a North Dakota state legislator, perished in the fiery incident that occurred shortly after the aircraft took off and crashed in a suburban park.

The plane was observed descending rapidly before erupting into flames. Emergency responders rushed to the scene where the wreckage was ablaze. The aircraft had departed from Crystal Airport on Saturday morning before crashing in a green area in Brooklyn Park, north of Minneapolis.

The North Dakota Democratic–Nonpartisan League Party mourned Conmy’s passing, acknowledging her advocacy for public education, the environment, and transparency. The party expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Representative Liz Conmy, emphasizing her significant contributions to the state.

Authorities received reports of the plane crash at 11:51 am and found the aircraft engulfed in flames in a park in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, shortly after takeoff. Brooklyn Park Police Inspector Matt Rabe provided details of the tragic incident.
