“Glasgow hit by second major fire in city center”

Date:

A fire broke out at a building in Glasgow this evening, following a recent blaze that destroyed a historic building in the city center. Emergency service vehicles rushed to Carnoustie Street in the Tradeston area, just south of the city center, where Scottish Fire and Rescue (SFRS) confirmed the incident. Witnesses captured images of multiple emergency vehicles, including fire engines, at the site after reports of a building fire around 6:30 pm.

This incident occurred shortly after a significant fire damaged a building at Glasgow Central Station, resulting in a partial collapse. Firefighters battled the flames for over 13 hours, with no reported injuries. An architect expressed concerns about potential damage to the station’s glass roof, warning of a potential extended closure if the structure is compromised.

Scotland’s First Minister acknowledged the extensive damage from the fire, anticipating significant disruptions for commuters and businesses in the area. Support was promised for the businesses affected by the blaze.
