Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a fresh warning to the United States, declaring that Americans have no place in the Persian Gulf except at the bottom of its waters.
Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not made any public appearances since taking over from his late father, asserted that Tehran’s new control over the Strait of Hormuz would foster tranquility and advancement, bringing economic advantages to all nations.
A senior military advisor to Khamenei had previously stated that Tehran would not accept any prolongation of the US naval blockade. He emphasized Iran’s commitment to eradicating any misuse of the waterway by adversaries, stating that while regional countries share a common destiny, foreign wrongdoers have no future in the area.
In a social media post, Khamenei hinted at a transformative phase for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. He underscored Iran’s determination to safeguard its nuclear and missile capabilities as crucial national assets, despite attempts by Donald Trump to persuade Iran to relinquish its armaments.
Khamenei emphasized that 90 million proud Iranians, both within and outside the country, consider all of Iran’s identity-rooted assets, including nanotechnology, biotechnology, and nuclear capabilities, as vital national treasures, vowing to protect them as they do the nation’s territorial integrity.
The statement, broadcast on Iranian state television, follows persistent rumors suggesting that Khamenei may have sustained severe injuries during the same US-Israeli attack that claimed the lives of his father and other Iranian officials at the onset of the conflict on February 28.
