“Squeaky Blinders: Giant Rats Roam Birmingham After Bin Strike”

Date:

Disgusting photographs have revealed large rats scurrying through the streets of Birmingham on the anniversary of the city’s bin worker strikes.

Approximately a year ago, a significant strike commenced that severely impacted Birmingham’s waste collection services, resulting in extensive piles of garbage accumulating throughout the city.

Initially spotted at the onset of the strike, massive rats, playfully referred to as ‘Squeaky Blinders,’ continue to roam freely within the city limits. These rabbit-sized rodents were recently captured on camera dashing amidst heaps of refuse in Small Heath, Birmingham, during a Wednesday night.

The labor dispute was triggered last year following proposed pay reductions and job modifications by the council, notably the elimination of the Waste Recycling and Collection Office position. The Unite union argued that this alteration posed risks to workers and could lead to financial losses of up to £8,000 annually for some employees, although this claim has been contested.

The council refuted the existence of the disputed role, and negotiations between the parties broke down last year.
