“Three Dead in Tragic Halifax Collision”

Three individuals lost their lives in a tragic collision involving three vehicles in Illingworth, Halifax. The incident occurred at the junction of Cobblestones Drive on Keighley Road around 6:50 pm on Wednesday.

The victims, a 21-year-old man and two men aged 22, were pronounced dead at the crash site. They were passengers in a Ford Fiesta that collided with a BMW and a stationary Renault Clio. Another 21-year-old occupant of the Ford Fiesta sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities from the West Yorkshire Police disclosed that a 37-year-old man and two women aged 18 and 32, all from Halifax and traveling in the BMW, were apprehended at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They are currently in police custody as investigations continue. The road remains closed for further examination.

Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler of the Major Collision Enquiry Team expressed condolences to the families affected by the tragedy. Specialized officers are providing support to the bereaved families, emphasizing the ongoing extensive investigations at the crash site.

The police are urging any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision to come forward with information. Additionally, they are requesting any dash-cam footage capturing the vehicles prior to the accident to assist in the investigation.
