“Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos Unfollows Meghan Markle’s Instagram”

Date:

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has silently stopped following both Meghan Markle and her lifestyle brand As Ever’s Instagram accounts, amid reports of a strained relationship between the streaming service and the Sussexes.

Sarandos was an early follower of Meghan when she reactivated her Instagram in 2025. Meghan later launched an account for her lifestyle business, initially named American Riviera Orchard before rebranding it to As Ever. Sarandos included this account in his list of approximately 450 followed accounts. However, both Sarandos and Netflix CCO Bela Bajaria recently unfollowed both accounts.

While Sarandos’s wife, Nicole Avant, still follows Meghan on Instagram, she does not follow As Ever. A Netflix source confirmed that Nicole and Meghan are still friends but did not provide further details on Meghan’s relationship with Sarandos.

The decision to unfollow comes after Variety released an exposé on Harry and Meghan’s association with Netflix, with inside sources suggesting a strained partnership. Allegations surfaced that the couple was challenging to work with and lacked effective communication, leading to uncertainty surrounding their deal.

Meghan’s lawyer dismissed these claims as attempts to depict her in a negative light, countering the accusations of being bossy towards Prince Harry. In response, Prince Harry refuted these claims as false.

Following the article’s publication, Netflix’s Bela Bajaria publicly refuted the reported discord at a Next on Netflix event. Bajaria affirmed that Netflix continues to collaborate with the couple on various projects, including films and TV shows.

Despite reassurances from Bajaria, a Netflix insider indicated that staff members were hesitant to express grievances publicly. The insider mentioned the possibility of a new season of With Love, Meghan but noted a lack of enthusiasm to collaborate with the couple at present.

In 2025, Meghan and Harry signed a multi-year deal with Netflix for film and television projects, marking a downgrade from their previous agreement signed in 2020. The Mirror reached out to Harry and Meghan’s representatives, as well as Netflix, for comments.
