“Parents Sentenced to Life for Killing 13-Week-Old Son”

Date:

In a tragic development, a couple was apprehended for the heinous act of killing their 13-week-old infant. Klevi and Nivalda Pirjani were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of their son, Miguel Pirjani, in November 2024. The court learned that the baby had endured severe abuse at the hands of his parents. Shocking bodycam footage unveiled the parents’ deceptive reactions following the distressing incident.

The distressing 999 emergency call revealed that baby Miguel had stopped breathing and showed signs of distress. Nivalda Pirjani feigned confusion upon learning about her baby’s fractured skull, while Klevi broke down in tears. Investigations disclosed that Miguel had sustained multiple fractures and a brain hemorrhage due to constant mistreatment.

During the trial at Liverpool Crown Court, both defendants received life sentences. Nivalda Pirjani was given a minimum term of 15 years and three months in prison, while Klevi was mandated to serve at least 19 years before parole consideration. The emotional courtroom scene saw Klevi wiping away tears upon receiving his sentence, while Nivalda remained composed throughout the proceedings.

Justice Baker, the presiding judge, condemned the couple for their violent actions, stating that Miguel’s tragic death resulted from severe head and neck trauma. The judge speculated on the nature of the fatal assault, pointing out that the parents had deliberately inflicted harm on their defenseless child. He emphasized the couple’s shared responsibility in the escalating violence against Miguel, branding it as a gross betrayal of parental trust.

While acknowledging Nivalda’s remorse and challenging upbringing, Justice Baker found no justification for leniency in Klevi’s case. The judge highlighted Nivalda’s postnatal depression and family estrangement but noted her lack of accountability during the trial. The sentencing served as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of parental abuse and the imperative to uphold the sanctity of parent-child relationships.
