Family friends of a young girl tragically discovered deceased in a pond revealed that the mother had sought a new childminder via Facebook shortly before the incident. Seven-year-old Nyla May Bradshaw, who had autism, was found in a pond at Owston Hall golf course in the vicinity of Doncaster after being reported missing from Skellow village on the same day.
In the wake of the heartbreaking event, tributes poured in from devastated family members, with Nyla’s mother, Hailey, expressing her deep sorrow for her “sweet little girl.” It was disclosed by Charlotte Emma, a close friend of Nyla’s mother, that Hailey had reached out to a local Facebook group for assistance in finding a childminder and had been recommended an individual who claimed expertise in dealing with autism.
Tragically, within a short span, Hailey received a distressing text alerting her of Nyla’s disappearance, and the girl was subsequently found in the pond. Reflecting on the situation, Charlotte conveyed to the Metro: “Many of us are grappling with guilt as Hailey rarely entrusted her daughter to others, given that she attends a specialized school. However, with the onset of school holidays, her mother was in urgent need of a childminder. She had inquired within a Facebook group for recommendations in the area.”
Nyla’s father, Kieran Bradshaw, paid homage to his daughter as his “best friend” and an “amazing daughter” in a heartfelt tribute shared on Facebook. He reminisced about their shared moments and expressed profound feelings of loss, emphasizing the impact Nyla had on everyone she encountered.
To assist the grieving family with funeral expenses, a fundraising campaign has been initiated on GoFundMe. The organizers highlighted the immense pain the family is enduring following the loss of their beloved daughter and the challenges of organizing her funeral.
