An alleged sexual assault took place in Suffolk during the early hours of Sunday, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old man by the police. The incident occurred in Lowestoft, where a woman in her 20s, accompanied by a friend, boarded a taxi at the Blues pub. Another man joined them in the car, and they proceeded to The Volunteer pub on London Road North.
Upon arrival, the woman and the additional man disembarked the taxi and walked towards Milton Road East. Subsequently, the man guided the woman into an alleyway near the junction of Arnold Street around midnight, where the alleged sexual assault occurred. The perpetrator then fled down London Road North and turned into Gordon Road following the assault.
Suffolk Police have confirmed that specialized officers are providing assistance to the victim. An 18-year-old man from Lowestoft has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is currently detained at the Great Yarmouth Police investigation Centre for questioning.
