A teenager who began vaping to fit in with his friends ended up vaping excessively until his lung collapsed. Nathan Edmunds, now 19, started using disposable vapes at the age of 13 because he thought it was trendy. His vaping habit escalated to the point where he would vape constantly, even keeping his vape by his side while he slept.
His favorite vape flavor was strawberry kiwi, and he would refill his vape up to three times a day. One day, Nathan woke up with severe chest pain on December 19, 2025, and was rushed to the hospital where doctors diagnosed him with a collapsed lung, attributing it to his vaping.
After being hospitalized for four days and undergoing treatment with a chest drain, Nathan was informed by doctors that his lung collapse was a result of vaping. This revelation prompted him to immediately quit vaping and he now advises other young people to do the same before experiencing similar health issues.
Nathan’s experience serves as a cautionary tale, reminding individuals of the potential dangers of vaping and the importance of prioritizing their health over fleeting trends.
