Ex-Prince Andrew was spotted with a smile on Bank Holiday Monday, a rare moment of joy amidst recent controversies. Despite being excluded from the Royal family’s Easter gathering, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, 66, was seen driving towards his temporary residence at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate.
Following his eviction from the Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he resided for 21 years, Andrew has now relocated to Wood Farm. He was also observed visiting Marsh Farm over the weekend to discuss his upcoming move with Sandringham estate manager Edward Parsons.
Wood Farm, known as a secluded royal retreat previously occupied by Prince Philip, is now Andrew’s temporary abode. Meanwhile, Marsh Farm, a renovated former farmhouse, is set to be his permanent residence, although delays have been reported.
Security measures, including new fences and installation of TV and broadband services by a Sky TV engineer, have been put in place at Marsh Farm. The King has personally covered the refurbishment expenses due to Andrew’s financial difficulties.
Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, usually stay at Wood Farm during Easter, but had to alter their plans due to Andrew still occupying the residence. The Duke of Edinburgh recently visited Andrew, marking the first royal interaction in months since Andrew’s departure from the Royal Lodge.
Stripped of his titles due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew continues to deny any wrongdoing. Both Andrew and his family have maintained a low profile, as evidenced by their absence from the recent royal Easter gathering.
In contrast, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children attended St George’s Chapel in Windsor, exuding happiness as they partook in the Easter service without Andrew. The royal family members were warmly received by onlookers, with cheers echoing as they entered the chapel.
Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and their families were also present at the event, alongside the King and Queen, who received blessings from spectators. Recent documents released by the US Department of Justice revealed correspondences between Andrew and Epstein, further deepening the scrutiny surrounding the former prince’s actions.
