“Body Found in River Mersey, Albert Dock Section Closed”

Police have cordoned off a section of the Royal Albert Dock after the discovery of a body in the River Mersey.

Emergency responders were alerted to Canning Dock in Liverpool city center earlier today following concerns for an individual’s well-being. A comprehensive search and rescue mission was initiated, involving the coastguard, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and paramedics.

Authorities have verified that the body of a male was recovered from the river. The individual has not yet been formally identified, and a restricted area is in effect with the public advised to steer clear.

Merseyside Police issued a statement confirming the fatality, stating, “A male was located in the River Mersey and unfortunately pronounced deceased. Identification of the individual is pending.”

A report from Liverpool Echo states that a body was found in the River Mersey, with emergency services responding to Canning Dock in Liverpool city center due to safety concerns.

Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, ambulance crews, and the coastguard attended the scene. A thorough search, concentrated on the water, was conducted, leading to the closure of part of Albert Dock.

Authorities have reiterated the discovery of a male body in the River Mersey, pending formal identification.
