A mysterious Thunderball player from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, who is yet to step forward, has won a life-changing £500,000 prize. The fortunate individual matched all five main numbers – 2, 4, 8, 11, 23 – and the Thunderball number 5 on the draw held on Friday, March 27.
Efforts are underway to locate the winner before the deadline of September 23, 2026, to claim the prize. If the winner fails to come forward within the stipulated time, the prize money and accumulated interest will be utilized for National Lottery-funded projects in the UK.
Andy Carter, a senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, the operator of the National Lottery, emphasized the importance of searching for the winning ticket. He urged individuals in Wolverhampton or those who were in the city around the draw date to check their belongings thoroughly, including clothes, bags, wallets, and vehicles.
In case the rightful owner of the winning ticket does not surface before the claim deadline, the prize money and interest will be redirected to support National Lottery-funded initiatives nationwide. Those who suspect they hold the winning ticket are advised to contact the National Lottery Line or email before the 180-day deadline elapses.
Additionally, players who believe they have a valid claim but have misplaced their ticket can still file a written claim with Allwyn within 30 days of the draw. Currently, there are six unclaimed National Lottery prizes exceeding £3 million, prompting players to verify their tickets for potential winnings.
