Green Park station was closed to commuters this morning following a police incident involving an individual on the tracks. British Transport Police confirmed that the person sustained severe injuries around 8:20 am and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The closure of multiple Underground lines and stations was initiated due to the extensive police presence. Specifically, the Jubilee Line between Waterloo and Finchley is currently not operational, prompting passengers to seek alternative travel routes.
Stations affected by the disruption include Waterloo, Westminster, Green Park, Bond Street, Baker Street, St John’s Wood, Swiss Cottage, and Finchley Road. Transport for London reported the closure of the route from Camden’s major interchange since 8:20 am.
British Transport Police stated that they responded to the incident at Green Park Underground station early in the morning and are actively investigating the circumstances. Meanwhile, the London Fire Brigade is assisting at the scene with two fire engines and a fire rescue unit present.
The London Ambulance Service was alerted to the situation at 8:04 am and dispatched various medical resources, including an ambulance crew, paramedics, and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. The injured individual was treated on-site and transferred to a major trauma center.
Additionally, the Hammersmith & City line experienced a temporary suspension due to a trespassing incident at Paddington station, which has now reopened with delays. Minor disruptions on the Bakerloo line are also reported due to train cancellations.
