A vibrant 17-year-old girl, known as Summer, met a tragic end in a car accident. Derbyshire police reported that the incident occurred when a Vauxhall Corsa, carrying Summer as a passenger, veered off the road and crashed into a tree late on Sunday night.
Summer lost her life at the scene on Sutton Lane, Sutton Scarsdale. The driver, a 19-year-old male, was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The grieving mother of Summer fondly remembered her daughter as an outgoing and lively young girl who enjoyed being in the spotlight. Summer was described as talkative, motivated, and with clear career goals. She had recently started working at McDonald’s and was studying construction, particularly enjoying carpentry with plans to work alongside her stepdad Julian.
Known for her playful nature, Summer had a passion for piercings and was eagerly anticipating her first tattoo upon turning 18 in October. Her interests included dining out, spending time with friends, and caring for her pets, especially her three horses and dogs, activities she shared with her mother.
Summer was deeply devoted to her family, especially her younger sisters Bonnie and Bella. Her father also reminisced about her joyful presence, mentioning her love for baking, watching Mansfield Town matches, assisting with household chores, and sharing light-hearted moments with family members.
