“Fatal Collision on Northam Bridge: Two in Custody”

Two individuals have been taken into custody following a fatal accident involving a 17-year-old motorcyclist and a car. The tragic incident occurred at Northam Bridge in Southampton around 1:20 am on Saturday, prompting swift response from emergency services.

According to Hampshire Constabulary, a 17-year-old and a 29-year-old were apprehended after their silver VW Polo collided with a white Yamaha YZF. They are being held on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.

The young motorcyclist, hailing from Fareham, Hampshire, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Hampshire Constabulary expressed gratitude to drivers for their cooperation during the closure of Northam Bridge, which had to be shut down for several hours before reopening.
