“LGBT+ Nightclub Arson Suspect Apprehended”

Date:

An individual has been apprehended under suspicion of committing arson with the intent to endanger lives after a significant fire broke out at an LGBT+ nightclub. The incident at Pink Punters venue in Milton Keynes was reported to Thames Valley Police around 2 am on Sunday (April 26).

Following the reports, a considerable number of attendees and nearby residents in the Watling Street vicinity were safely evacuated by the authorities. Video footage depicts flames engulfing the upper level of the establishment, reaching high above the roof.

Law enforcement mentioned that the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Both officers and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue teams are currently present at the scene, with road closures implemented for safety measures.

A 51-year-old male resident of Buckinghamshire has been taken into custody on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger lives, as confirmed by the police.

Pink Punters, a venue known for its dancefloors, outdoor bar, and karaoke nights, has been operational for more than twenty years, as reported by the Express. During the peak of the fire, twelve fire crews were on site, according to the fire service.

Chief Superintendent Emma Baillie, the commander in Milton Keynes, commented on the incident, stating, “This was a significant fire that necessitated the evacuation of a large number of individuals. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the venue staff efficiently managed to evacuate everyone safely.”

She further added, “It is premature to speculate on the motives behind this incident at this time, and we urge the public not to engage in speculation.”

Individuals with any pertinent information are encouraged to reach out to the police by dialing 101 and providing reference number 43260203265.
