“Pair Charged with Murder, Poisoning in Cotswolds Case”

Date:

Two individuals, a man and a woman, have made a court appearance following murder charges in connection with the death of a man in the Cotswolds. Adina Mihai, aged 30, and Madalin Dumitru, aged 29, are facing allegations of murdering 83-year-old Malcolm King at an address in Bagendon near Cirencester on August 21, 2024.

The accusations stem from a collaborative investigation by Gloucestershire Police and Thames Valley Police. The duo, previously residing in Sandway Gardens, Birmingham, have also been accused of manslaughter, administering poison with intent to cause harm, conspiracy to steal, and other related offenses in connection with the same incident.

During their appearance at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, Mihai and Dumitru pleaded not guilty to a total of 19 charges. Additionally, they were previously charged by Thames Valley Police regarding the death of 37-year-old Gary Mouat in Banbury last year, facing charges of murder, manslaughter, administering poison, and conspiracy to steal in that case as well.

Moreover, Mihai and Dumitru are alleged to have poisoned and conspired to steal from three men on separate occasions between July 13 and 31, 2023. Consequently, they are confronted with charges related to administering poison, conspiring to steal, and causing grievous bodily harm in these instances.

Both defendants have been detained in custody and are scheduled to appear at Oxford Crown Court on June 3 to address all the charges.
