A young child is fighting for survival following a tragic drowning incident at a hotel pool on a Spanish island. The four-year-old was rescued from the swimming pool in southern Gran Canaria over the weekend but remains in critical condition.
Reports indicate that the boy experienced a severe drowning episode, prompting emergency teams to swiftly transfer him to a medical facility in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Despite initial efforts, his condition deteriorated, leading medical professionals to seek assistance from specialized rescue units.
The child was airlifted by medics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) via helicopter to Las Palmas for further treatment. Throughout the transfer, a dedicated team of medical experts, including a doctor and a nurse, closely monitored his condition.
Upon arrival at the University Maternal and Child Hospital in Las Palmas, the boy was met by a team of emergency responders and pediatric specialists. Officials confirmed that the child displayed severe symptoms of drowning prior to the emergency evacuation and remains in a serious state.
