“UK Set for Sunny Bank Holiday with Temperatures Reaching 18C”

Date:

The United Kingdom is set for sunny weather this Bank Holiday Monday, with temperatures reaching 18C as many people head to the beach to enjoy the warmth.

Despite some concerns of rainy weather, most parts of Britain are expected to have a dry Early May Bank Holiday with sunny spells. Southern regions may experience light showers, according to a weather expert.

Areas around London, including Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, and others, are likely to have the warmest temperatures, peaking at 18C. Southern coastal areas could reach 16C, while the north may see temperatures up to 15C based on the latest weather forecasts.

Jim Dale, a senior meteorologist from British Weather Services, mentioned that some southern counties in England and Wales and parts of Scotland could have light showers, with cooler temperatures in the north. However, the overall weather is expected to be fair across most regions.

Southern England might experience fog in the morning, followed by light drizzle along the south coast throughout the day. Thunderstorms could develop in the evening between Exeter and Brighton. Any showers are anticipated to be light, as per the Met Office, with scattered showers being lighter compared to previous days.

The Met Office forecasts lingering clouds and scattered showers in southern and central areas on Bank Holiday Monday, though these showers are expected to be lighter and less frequent than over the weekend. Northern and northeastern parts of England may feel slightly cooler, but with relatively light winds, making it less chilly.

In the farther north and northeast regions, temperatures are likely to be cooler with scattered showers, possibly wintry over higher grounds. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, although stronger at times in the far northeast. While temperatures in most areas will be close to average, it may feel colder in the northern and northeastern regions.
