A young traveler recounts a harrowing experience of being abandoned on a roadside in Thailand after a motorcycle accident. Chloe Foster, aged 26, was a passenger on the bike when it overturned, leaving her injured while the rider fled without seeking assistance.
The incident took place in the early hours following a full moon celebration on Ko Phangan island. Struggling to hail a taxi at the end of the night, Chloe accepted an offer from a man to ride pillion on his motorcycle.

After losing consciousness from the impact, Chloe’s memory of the events was hazy, but she was aided by strangers who informed her of the situation. She recounted how the man absconded without seeking help or ensuring her well-being.
Prompt medical assistance arrived, with a nearby doctor attending to Chloe before she was transported to a hospital, where the extent of her injuries was revealed the next day, including a broken foot, fractured face, and severe swelling and bruises.
Struggling in a foreign environment, Chloe expressed her fear and frustration at the language barrier with hospital staff, feeling isolated and overwhelmed by the ordeal, labeling it as her most distressing experience to date.
Discharged from the hospital after nearly a week, Chloe was shocked to discover a substantial medical bill of £4,000 due to insurance complications. Family support and a crowdfunding campaign are aiding in covering the expenses as Chloe faces additional treatment for her injuries.
