“Britain Set for Warm Spell: Temperatures to Reach 23C in May”

Britons can expect a surge in temperatures to reach 23C in the coming weeks, with weather maps indicating a warm spell in May. The forecast from WXCharts and Netweather.tv shows that scorching conditions will hit various parts of the country on 21 May, with temperatures rising to 23C in at least 14 counties.

The weather charts suggest that the hot conditions will gradually spread across Britain starting on the evening of 20 May, with temperatures in England reaching around 20C. By the evening of 21 May, London and Surrey are expected to experience temperatures of 23C, according to Netweather.tv. Most areas in England and the Midlands are predicted to see highs of 20C during the evening.

Plymouth recorded the highest temperature on Sunday at 18C, while Kirkwall, Orkney, experienced a low of 9.6C, and Wych Cross, East Sussex, struggled at 11.3C.

However, before the warm weather arrives, rain is forecasted. The Met Office’s long-range forecast for 15 to 24 May indicates changeable and unsettled conditions, with periods of rain or showers expected in many places. Temperatures are likely to be near normal or slightly below, with winds coming from a northwesterly direction. Towards the end of the period, there could be drier weather in the southwest as pressure increases.
