A male suspect faces charges following an attack on an emergency room doctor during his night shift at a hospital in London. The doctor, aged in his 50s, sustained multiple stab wounds at Hillingdon Hospital in the western part of the city. Emergency medical personnel provided initial treatment at the hospital before transferring the doctor to a specialized trauma center.
Metropolitan Police apprehended the assailant at the scene, coincidentally responding to a separate incident. The suspect, identified as Mahdi Abdullahi, 27, residing on Pield Heath Road in Hillingdon, was arrested and later charged with causing severe bodily harm with intent. Abdullahi also faces charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and theft of knives. He remains in custody pending a court appearance scheduled for Friday at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.
A spokesperson for Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting and reassuring its staff, condemning any acts of violence or aggression as unacceptable.
