The site is currently swarming with emergency responders, including South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. An eyewitness mentioned, “My friend and I arrived shortly after the event, witnessing the van, a white VW, allegedly speeding out of the NCP car park.”
A representative from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service disclosed receiving two alerts from South Wales Police just before 4:50 pm on a Saturday. They confirmed that a van had collided with shutters at Quay Street, resulting in the dispatch of a fire crew. Subsequently, authorities have vacated the area, and the situation has been deemed under control.
Images depict the white van lodged partially inside the building on Quay Street. Neighboring resident Antonio Cersosimo expressed concern about potential structural harm to the adjacent restaurant.
A witness recounted, “The van seemed out of control, racing out of the NCP at around 40mph and narrowly missing pedestrians before colliding with the building near Casanova’s.” Emergency services are reportedly preparing to remove the vehicle, with the affected area cordoned off.
