“Tragic Death: Young Man Dies After Suspected Attack in Dublin”

A tragic incident has led to the death of a young man who entered a river following a suspected attack. Thomas Griffin, aged 32, was reportedly assaulted near War Memorial Gardens in west Dublin and then sought refuge in the River Liffey. Despite efforts from emergency services, Thomas succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

This heartbreaking event follows the fatal stabbing of Thomas’ younger brother, James, at a club event. The family from Ballyfermot in Dublin had previously mourned James’ untimely death in 2014. Thomas, a devoted boxer who trained at St Matthews Boxing Club, has received numerous tributes from the community, including professional boxer Luke Keeler.

Local authorities are urging witnesses to come forward to help shed light on the circumstances surrounding Thomas’ tragic demise. An investigation is ongoing, with Gardaí seeking any information or camera footage from individuals who were in the area on the night of the incident.
