“Prince George to Follow Royal Tradition at Eton College”

Date:

Prince George has been officially announced to enroll at Eton College, following his father’s path, as the new school year commences in September. The eldest son of the Prince and Princess of Wales, who will be 13 in July, is currently completing his final term at Lambrook School, where he has been a student since September 2022.

Upon his return from the summer break, the second-in-line to the throne will transition to his secondary education at the all-boys school, located just a short 12-minute drive from the Wales’ family residence at Forest Lodge on the Windsor estate.

A statement released on behalf of William and Kate from Kensington Palace confirmed Prince George’s enrollment at Eton College starting in September. However, the statement did not specify whether George will be a boarding student at the college.

Prince George follows a tradition of royal attendance at Eton, including his father Prince William and uncle Prince Harry. Prince William, who attended Eton between 1995 and 2000, spoke positively about his time there, highlighting his enjoyment of the school environment.

During his tenure at Eton, Prince William excelled academically and in sports, participating in activities such as water polo, football, and swimming. His achievements included earning 12 GCSEs and three A-levels with high grades, securing a place at St Andrew’s University where he met his future spouse.

In contrast, Prince Harry expressed his struggles at Eton, citing a challenging adjustment period and the importance of sports in keeping him engaged with school. He emphasized the role of sports in his school experience, stating that without them, he might have left school.

Joining a prestigious list of Eton alumni, Prince George’s attendance at the college was preceded by speculation regarding his choice of secondary education. Other potential schools under consideration included Marlborough College, where his mother previously studied, and Oundle School in Northamptonshire.

George’s enrollment at Eton continues a royal tradition, with notable figures such as Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and various British prime ministers and celebrities among the school’s distinguished alumni.
