Stephen Harper, a 35-year-old from Bellshill in Scotland, met his demise in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on June 19 while on his journey. His loved ones are actively working to bring his remains back to the United Kingdom, with the estimated repatriation expenses totaling around £20,000.
A fundraising campaign has been initiated by Stephen’s lifelong friend, Charles Brown, to facilitate the repatriation process, garnering significant support. In his appeal, Charles expressed, “On June 19, 2026, we received the heartbreaking news that my lifelong friend Stephen tragically passed away while traveling in the Philippines.”
“I am seeking to raise funds on behalf of Stephen’s family to assist in bringing his body back to the UK for a fitting farewell. The anticipated costs for this endeavor can reach up to £20,000, thus any contributions, regardless of size, will contribute to this cause and will be deeply valued by all.”
Describing Stephen as a dear companion with a genuinely compassionate nature, Charles noted his fervent support for Celtic F.C. and his passion for travel, reminiscing how he embraced diverse cultures and created lasting memories everywhere he ventured.
