Prince William and Prince Harry are unlikely to reconcile in the future, as the Duke of Sussex has caused significant damage to the Royal Family, according to royal editor Russell Myers from The Mirror.
Reflecting on the brothers’ strained relationship, Myers stated that even on what would have been Princess Diana’s 65th birthday, a reconciliation between them seems highly improbable due to Harry’s critical remarks about the Royal Family.
Myers emphasized that the current state of their relationship is at its lowest point, with no signs of improvement. Despite Harry expressing a desire to mend his bond with his father, there is deep hurt felt by William, Catherine, and other royals over Harry’s past criticisms of the monarchy.
Harry’s public criticisms of the Royal Family in various interviews and media appearances have further strained his relationship with William. Their last public appearance together was at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth in 2022.
Despite their personal differences, both William and Harry have continued their mother’s charitable legacy. Harry has been involved in humanitarian efforts in countries like Ukraine and Angola, focusing on clearing landmines, while William has dedicated himself to addressing homelessness through projects like Homewards, which he celebrated three years of recently.
Regarding Diana’s birthday commemorations, the brothers celebrated together in 2021 but are expected to mark the occasion separately this year. Despite their strained relationship, both Harry and William hold fond memories of their mother, remembering her for her joy and sense of fun.
The brothers’ individual reflections on Diana’s legacy show their deep connection to her values, with William passing on these teachings to his own children, emphasizing the importance of charity and empathy outside the confines of royal life.
