A tragic incident occurred in south London where a family comprising a mother, father, and their nine-year-old son fell from a high-rise building onto another structure, resulting in their untimely demise. The deceased were identified as Aditi Vijay Paralkar, 46, a real estate developer, Rakesh Narayan Pai, 47, and their son Sid Rene Pai-Paralkar. The unfortunate event took place on May 27 at the Uncle residential tower on Churchyard Row in Elephant and Castle.

According to Detective Sergeant Simon Monga of the Metropolitan Police, the family fell from a height onto another building, and their bodies were later recovered by the London Fire Brigade. Assistant coroner Michelle Haste revealed during the inquest that Ms. Paralkar and Mr. Pai succumbed to multiple injuries, while the cause of Sid’s death is yet to be determined.

Emergency services responded to the incident at 7:29 am after receiving reports of the fall. Tragically, all three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The official identification process was carried out using the family’s passports found at their residence.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, with authorities awaiting the results of pathology and forensic examinations to determine the sequence of events. A detailed report on Sid’s death by a pediatric pathologist is expected to take at least six months. The inquest has been adjourned until the completion of the police investigation.

MP Neil Coyle of Bermondsey and Old Southwark confirmed that the family resided on the 36th floor of the 45-storey tower block. He mentioned that Sid had significant health issues, including kidney disease, and was being homeschooled. The police have clarified that they are not seeking any other individuals in connection with the deaths at this time.

The Metropolitan Police spokesperson reported that the tragic incident is being treated as unexpected, and efforts are underway to formally identify the deceased individuals. Family members have been notified and are receiving support from trained officers during this difficult period.
