“Fatal Hit-and-Run in North Belfast: 24-Year-Old Woman Killed”

A 24-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident in North Belfast, as confirmed by the police. The victim, Raven Adams, hailing from Tipperary, was declared deceased at the scene in the York Street locality. Additionally, a 22-year-old man sustained severe injuries in the same event.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) was notified about the collision involving two pedestrians around 2:40 am. Subsequently, the driver, a 22-year-old male, absconded from the scene but was apprehended by law enforcement in the nearby Cavehill vicinity, according to the PSNI.

Detective Inspector Stewart, representing the Police Service’s Collision Investigation Unit, stated that they were informed about a single-vehicle crash involving two pedestrians at approximately 2:40 am. The pedestrians were reportedly hit by a vehicle, and the driver, a 22-year-old man, fled the scene but was later detained by officers in the nearby Cavehill area. The driver is presently in police custody as investigations continue into the incident.

Emergency services and law enforcement officials responded to the scene promptly, providing medical care to both pedestrians. Tragically, the female victim was pronounced dead on-site, while the injured man was transported to a hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.

The road closures in the area have been lifted, and the PSNI is appealing to anyone with information or dash-cam footage related to the crash to come forward by contacting the police through a witness appeal form or by calling 101 and quoting reference 181 16/07/26.

Local DUP MLA, Phillip Brett, expressed deep sorrow upon learning of the fatal collision.
