“Welsh TikTok Star Faces Backlash for Summit Bathtub Stunt”

Date:

A TikTok personality faced backlash for hauling a bathtub up the highest peak in South Wales for a world record attempt and leaving it there, prompting a group of rugby players to retrieve it. Tom Christopher, 25, from Wales, carried the tub up 2,907ft Pen Y Fan and used it for a bath before abandoning it on the summit.

Following public outrage, the TikTok star apologized for his actions, admitting it was a mistake. He left the bathtub on the peak for 48 hours, claiming it was for a charitable cause, but this explanation did not sit well with the public.

A team of rugby players encountered the abandoned tub and took it down themselves, criticizing Tom for his actions. Despite his apology, Tom defended his stunt as being for a good cause and praised the community for standing up for the environment.

The bathtub was eventually removed by the rugby players, and Tom was informed that it had been disposed of. Cardiff Rugby Academy shared images of the tub being carried down, questioning the thought process behind leaving it on the peak.

Tom initially planned to take the tub back down but received numerous requests from followers to leave it for others to use. Overwhelmed by the positive response, he left the tub for 48 hours before attempting to bring it down. However, some criticized him for potentially littering the mountain.

Despite facing criticism, Tom garnered significant online attention for his stunt, with many viewers expressing interest and support. The incident highlighted the importance of respecting natural landscapes and being mindful of environmental impact.
