Originally scheduled to depart for London Luton yesterday, Dr. Roberts and fellow travelers find themselves still stuck at the airport due to prolonged delays and a lack of information from staff.
Despite arriving early at the airport, continuous flight delays and a lack of support from airport personnel left passengers feeling abandoned. Dr. Roberts described the situation as disorganized, with passengers eventually being forced out of the airport to find their own lodging for the night, even though free accommodations were unavailable in the area.
Upon the airport’s reopening, passengers, including Dr. Roberts, remain stranded near the departures area, waiting for updates on their flight. Adding to the challenges, hungry passengers were forbidden from re-entering the airport after attempting to purchase food from a nearby café. Dr. Roberts highlighted the deteriorating conditions, emphasizing the overcrowding and lack of care for passengers’ well-being.
The dire circumstances have escalated, with Dr. Roberts expressing concern for his health and that of other passengers. He criticized EasyJet for what he perceives as a disregard for passengers’ welfare, stating that the airline appears indifferent to the hardships faced by those stranded at the airport.
In response to the situation, an EasyJet spokesperson explained that the flight had been delayed due to a bird strike and subsequent air traffic control restrictions, causing the overnight delay.
