“Fatal Crash in Central Italy Claims Six Lives”

A fatal accident occurred in central Italy when a tourist shuttle bus crashed, resulting in the death of six individuals and injuries to 34 others. The collision involved the bus, a camper van, and two cars on the Terni-Rieti road near the Umbria-Lazio border. Regional authorities reported that six injured individuals were in critical condition, with two others receiving treatment for severe injuries. As of Monday afternoon, 15 people remained hospitalized, while 19 had been discharged.

The bus was en route to the Marmore Falls, an ancient Roman waterfall near Terni, according to reports from Italian newspaper La Nazione. Regional president Stefania Proietti termed the incident as “catastrophic,” triggering the immediate activation of the regional emergency protocol. The injured were swiftly transported to hospitals in Terni, Perugia, Spoleto, Foligno, and Rieti.

Among the casualties were two Italian nationals from Massa, identified as Paolo Cosci and Graziella Baldini. The Mayor of Massa, Francesco Persiani, extended condolences, expressing deep sorrow for the loss suffered by the community in the tragic accident along the Terni-Rieti highway.
