A 33-year-old woman, Denisa Fraser, had been attributing her dizzy spells to poor fitness until a health assessment at Clevedon Clinic London Hospital in March 2026 revealed she had two rare heart conditions. Denisa, originally from Czechia, was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a rare heart rhythm disorder, along with a large coronary sinus diverticulum, complicating her treatment.
Despite engaging in yoga, spin classes, and running, Denisa experienced episodes of dizziness, faintness, and rapid heartbeats during physical activities. She had assumed these symptoms were due to inadequate fitness levels and did not realize they were signs of underlying health issues. Following a workplace health assessment, doctors uncovered her conditions and recommended further investigations.
During a procedure aimed to address her heart rhythm disorder, specialists encountered a more complex situation than anticipated, requiring additional examinations. Subsequently, Denisa underwent an eight-hour operation to map and treat the abnormal heart rhythms. Post-surgery, she noticed significant improvements in her ability to exercise without experiencing uncontrollable heart rates, improved breathing, and overall calmness.
Reflecting on her experience, Denisa emphasized the importance of not dismissing persistent symptoms and seeking medical attention promptly. She encouraged others to undergo health checks regardless of age or activity level, highlighting the tendency to attribute symptoms to stress or normal bodily functions. Denisa’s journey serves as a reminder to prioritize health assessments and not overlook potential warning signs of underlying health conditions.
