Amazon has unveiled an updated price for its latest Fire TV Stick HD, presenting an opportune moment to explore this revamped device. The new model boasts enhancements such as a sleeker design, Wi-Fi 6 support for improved streaming quality, and faster overall performance.
Reportedly over 30% speedier than its predecessors, the new Fire TV Stick HD offers quicker boot-up times and enhanced app functionality. Notably, it can draw power directly from a TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter and facilitating a tidy cable setup behind the screen.
Additionally, the device debuts Amazon’s latest Fire OS software, dubbed Vega, which touts a more organized interface, intelligent content suggestions, and a smoother browsing experience. Amazon described the new Fire TV Stick HD as the slimmest streaming device to date, designed for direct power via the TV’s USB port to minimize clutter without requiring an extra adapter.
Originally priced at £39.99 upon release last month, the new Fire TV Stick HD is now on sale at Amazon for £25.99, marking a 35% discount. While this discount is appealing, consumers seeking the best deal can find slightly lower prices elsewhere. Argos and Currys have reduced the cost of the 2024 Fire TV Stick HD to £24.99, undercutting Amazon by £1 and offering a £15 discount off the original launch price.
The older HD model still provides access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, along with Full HD playback, Alexa voice controls, quick app launch shortcuts, and smart home control capabilities for compatible devices such as lights.
