The official statement confirmed that Anthony Joshua and another passenger were involved in the accident, which occurred when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck. Both individuals were promptly taken to a specialized medical facility in Lagos, where they were assessed and found to be stable without the need for immediate medical intervention.
Medical professionals are closely monitoring Joshua and the other passenger, with ongoing care and support provided. The governments of Ogun and Lagos States are actively overseeing the situation to ensure that the affected individuals receive the necessary medical attention. The incident involved a black Lexus Jeep driven by Joshua, which collided with a stationary lorry along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria reported that the crash involved two vehicles and a total of five adult males. Sadly, two individuals lost their lives, one sustained injuries, and two others escaped unharmed. Anthony Joshua survived with minor injuries and is now in stable condition.
Following the accident, the injured victim received medical attention, and the deceased were taken to Livewell Morgue for further procedures. The Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division has been notified for additional investigation and documentation. Initial findings suggest that the Lexus Jeep may have been speeding and lost control during an overtaking maneuver, leading to the collision with the stationary truck.
