The development of this personal computer could not have foreseen the immense success that this brand would later achieve, with Apple now standing as one of the largest corporations globally.
Initially focused solely on computers, Apple has diversified its product range over the years, introducing iconic devices like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.
The Verge recently surveyed its audience to determine Apple’s greatest hits, revealing surprising outcomes. The original iPhone, launched in 2007, claimed the top position, becoming Apple’s most popular product, revolutionizing communication, entertainment, payment methods, and photography through its integrated cameras.
Steve Jobs emphasized the multifunctionality of the iPhone during its introduction, describing it as an “iPod, a phone, and an internet communicator” merged into a single device.
Following closely in second place is the iconic iPod, which gained widespread popularity in 2001 by offering the convenience of carrying “1,000 songs in your pocket,” replacing the bulky tape and CD players of the era. Apple discontinued the iPod range in May 2022.
Surprisingly, The Verge’s readers ranked Apple’s M1 PC chip third, recognizing its impact on enhancing Apple’s computer performance and efficiency.
The Verge continues to collect votes on Apple’s top devices, with rankings evolving constantly. As of now, the top 20 list includes products like the Original iPhone, Original iPod, M1 chip, and other significant Apple innovations.
