“Authorities Seek Answers for Unidentified Suitcase Girls”

Date:

Authorities are in the process of identifying two young girls whose bodies were found in a suitcase. The half-sisters were discovered in suitcases on Cleveland’s east side in the United States. Despite efforts, local authorities had not yet determined their identities as of Wednesday, March 4.

The bodies of the girls were located on Monday, March 2, in a neighborhood after a tip from a dog walker, according to police. One of the girls is estimated to be between 8 and 13 years old, while the other is believed to be between 10 and 14 years old, as reported by The Associated Press.

Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd mentioned on Tuesday that it remains unclear how the girls died, but their bodies had been at the location for a period of time. The circumstances surrounding their deaths do not match any active missing persons cases in the area, Todd stated.

“We are seeking answers,” Todd expressed. “This is a tragic and terrible situation.” A preliminary DNA relationship test conducted by the medical examiner’s office confirmed that the two girls were half-sisters. Further details will be provided as they become available.
