Henry’s father, Daniel Gendreau, expressed frustration over the lack of communication and support from the Ministry, highlighting the complex process involved in seeking exemptions.
The Gendreau family’s military background and frequent relocations further complicated Henry’s education, as he lacked consistent access to French classes. Despite his family’s sacrifices, they expected understanding and flexibility from the education system. However, the absence of an appeal process and clear explanations regarding the denial added to their distress.
Marie-Eve Lefebvre, a higher education specialist, emphasized the challenges faced by autistic students in advocating for exemptions.
