Few things rival the cuteness of baby animals, especially when they are eagerly devouring their meals. At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, baby elephants exhibit a remarkable enthusiasm for feeding time. Rescued from perilous situations, these young elephants now receive devoted care from the Trust’s keepers. Their eagerness for meals mirrors that of human infants, as captured by the trust workers documenting the feeding rituals.
Despite their challenging beginnings as orphaned elephants under the care of trust workers, these young animals seem to relish their time together.
In a recent Instagram video, baby elephants dash towards the approaching milk truck. Toto and Natibu engage in a playful race, with Korbessa emerging as the ultimate victor in reaching the milk first, closely followed by Natibu. Natibu briefly pauses for a close-up shot, showcasing his endearing face, before resuming his journey for the bottle alongside Toto, efficiently aided by Keeper Jonas.
The caption of the post humorously describes the mealtime sprint, highlighting Korbessa’s consistent lead and Mwinzi’s laid-back approach to mealtime.
The video sparked a flurry of responses from viewers, many drawing parallels between the elephants’ food race and their own mealtime excitement. Some expressed relatable sentiments, including the anticipation for food and the joy of witnessing the elephants’ exuberance.
