Bernie Ecclestone Sells Yacht “Petara” Amid Wealth Moves

Date:

Bernie Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only used it for eight days a year. Another smaller yacht owned by the Formula 1 mogul, located in Ibiza, is also currently on the market, in contrast to “Petara,” which is situated in Croatia.

During an interview to mark his 95th birthday, Ecclestone announced the sale of the yacht, explaining that they no longer needed such a large vessel since it was only used infrequently. Earlier this year, Ecclestone also parted ways with his collection of F1 cars, selling them to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This sale came after a civil settlement with HMRC where Ecclestone paid over £500 million for not declaring overseas assets worth £400 million.

Despite these transactions, Ecclestone and his family still hold a substantial net worth of over £1.8 billion, according to Forbes. Alongside his third wife Fabiana and their five-year-old son Ace, Ecclestone resides in Gstaad, Switzerland, where he prefers a low-key celebration for his birthday, opting to fly to his ranch in Brazil with his family.

Reflecting on family dynamics, Ecclestone mentioned spending time with his eldest daughter Deborah, who recently turned 70. Fabiana emphasized the strength of their relationship, highlighting their teamwork in raising Ace. She shared insights into their parenting approach, including limits on technology use for Ace and their plans regarding his first cell phone.

Addressing Ace’s talents and interests, Ecclestone and Fabiana spoke proudly of his early skiing skills and diverse culinary preferences, with sushi being his favorite dish. In a different context, Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the upcoming season, offering significant savings and an extensive range of live matches, including Premier League and EFL games.

With an expanded lineup of at least 215 live Premier League matches for the upcoming season, Sky aims to enhance the viewing experience for sports enthusiasts.
